What makes a master bedroom nice?
The master bedroom needs to be a place relaxation and it needs to be inviting for your and your spouse. I hate to be the nagging mom here, but MAKE YOUR BED, you guys! It’s probably the easiest and also the most annoying thing EVER to do, right?! But, from personal experience, if you make your bed, it decreases your stress level because it visually tricks your mind into thinking that there’s actually order amongst the chaos.
Also, having the covers in place gives the room the appearance of clean and cozy which = inviting!
On the decor end…
…I’m sure you’ve seen me talk about details, details, details! But, SO MUCH is in the details. Imagine you and your hubs took an overnight trip to a nice bed and breakfast. What would the room look like? Open your minds eye to visualizing what you’d want that room to look like. Would it have flowing curtains? Would it have a few, plush and comfy-looking decorative pillows? Would there be extra blankets?….a good couples book?…maybe a candle or two? Whatever sweet escape you’re imagining; that’s what you need to create in your bedroom. (Side note- don’t feel like you have to spend a fortune to make this space a sweet escape…you’ll be surprised and excited to realize what you can find at a dollar store or thrift store! Take advantage of those savings opportunities, ladies!).
Here is a picture of our master bedroom. You’ll notice our room doesn’t have curtains because, personally, I like the openness it adds- to each their own. There’s also a tray with a good book, a notepad- that you can’t see in the pic; it’s under the book (get creative- maybe you can each write down a thing or two you like about each other before bed each night), a candle, and the pitcher with the flowers is just cute- details, remember? :)….Plus, that pitcher will come in handy if you ever wanna serve some orange juice and breakfast in bed in the morning.
